This is a collograph and is a one off print. 
 
A collograph is a printmaking technique where an image is created by building up a textured plate using various materials such as cardboard , natual materials and fabrics. The plate is then inked and printed through a printing press and the image is transferred onto paper. The texture on the plate creates a unique , rich surface effects in the final print. 
The image was inspired from and old 1950s horse manual . I think it evokes a sense of freedom and adventure , hence the title 'a leap in the dark'.
 
The collograph is professionally framed in a white wooden frame. measuring 58 cm x 71cm framed; 37cm x 48cm unframed ; 52cm x 65cm mounted.
